Ballet Master Teacher and Choreographer, Tango Dancer and Organizer
Born in Caracas Venezuela, she began her studies in classical ballet at the early age of eight at NINA NOVAK’S School of Ballet.
She studied music for 5 years at The Lino Gallardo’s Music School in Caracas and 10 years Piano with her teacher, Olga Capriles. At thirteen she auditioned and received a three-year scholarship with the NACIONAL BALLET OF CARACAS, under the artistic direction of Choreographer VICENTE NEBRADA. At sixteen, Miss Jimenez won the Silver Medal at the International Ballet Competition in Trujillo Peru representing her country Venezuela. The following year she was hired as a principal dancer at NINA NOVAK’S Classical Ballet of Camara and performed principal roles in many classical works including: Don Quixote, Coppelia, Corsaire, Swan Lake, Diana and Acteon etc…
She was trained by Masters Teachers such as Nina Novak, Kaleria Fedicheva, Edmund Novak, Ruta Butviliene, Ramona de Saa, Magaly Suarez, Rosa Elena Alvarez, and others. This intensive training led her at the age of eighteen to perform with the principal Cuban dancer Carlos Junior Acosta dancing the principal role in Diana & Acteon Pas de Deux performing at the best theater in Caracas: Teresa Carreño Theater.
Maria A Jimenez is also in a book that the famous Nina Novak wrote in Venezuela as one of the medal-winning dancers in an International Ballet Competition. She was part of a Festival of Choreographers at La Casa Romulo Gallegos Caracas Venezuela in 2019.Presenting two Choreographies:George Sand (Dancing by Christin Thomas and Norbert Nirewicz and Dream Catcher dancing by Penelope Blanco)
Miss Maria A Jimenez has 37 years of experience teaching Classical Ballet to children, adult and professional dancers in Venezuela and South Florida. She performed for the Florida Grand Opera twice and designed choreography for The 64th Annual Gala of The Young Patroness of The Opera of Miami in 2019, “An Evening Where No One Sleeps”
at The Four Seasons Hotel Miami. She performed with Rafael Ferreras (Director of Ballet San AntonioTX) dancing principal roles for South Florida Ballet Company.
She has been a Guest Ballet Teacher at different Studios during the Summer Intensive in Florida and other states like Studio 444 in Durango Colorado in August 2021 and September 2024.In 2019 she was picked to be part of the 100 Best Dancers book that danced at one of the Prestigious Theater in Caracas Venezuela Teresa Carreño’s Theater. She has been a judge for Auditions for Dancers and Nutcracker Ballet for the Studios, like Astrid Audet Dance Academy, Natalie Dance Academy in 2022, etc..For the past 23 years , Miss Jimenez has been Ballet Mistress, Dancer and Assistant to the Artistic Director at the South Florida Ballet Company.
In July 2024 and 2025 she had the honor of teaching a Master Ballet Class in one of the Best Theaters in Venezuela: Municipal Theater of Valencia. She also dances Ballroom, Latin Dances and Argentine Tango. She is currently the Artistic Director of Buiza Ballet Dance Academy since November 2023.
